This book provides a guide to the law, practice and
procedure of WA’s State Administrative Tribunal (SAT). The text contains
annotated versions of the SAT Act, Rules and Regulations. Annotations
from over 200 cases cover case law from the SAT and WA Supreme Court as well
as relevant decisions from courts and tribunals of other jurisdictions.
Commentary provides guidance on issues relevant to conducting proceedings in
the Tribunal, including applications, conferences, mediation, evidence,
costs, enforcement, appeals and the Tribunal’s jurisdiction and powers. The
work is indexed and its content cross-referenced to guide readers to
relevant provisions and materials.
The text provides a ready reference for lawyers,
councils, vocational boards and others who regularly appear before the SAT.
It will also be of use to practitioners appearing before similar tribunals,
such as the AAT (Cth), ADT (NSW) and VCAT (Vic), who seek information on the
law and practice of equivalent bodies.
