The
Spam Act 2003 regulates how businesses and other organisations
may send commercial electronic messages, including emails and SMS
messages. Generally, the Act applies in relation to electronic communications that contain
any form of "commercial"
information, which includes communications such as e-marketing messages,
e-newsletters, SMS offers, e-catalogues and e-Christmas cards.
