This service contains fully annotated versions of the Development
Act 1993 (SA) and Development
Regulations 1993
(SA) as well as a stand-alone 'Development Act Case Notes'
section summarising statements of legal principle and cases on a topical
basis.
Annotations include notes and summaries of cases from the SA
Environment, Resources and
Development Court and SA Supreme Court, as well as
key decisions of the High Court and other State environment and planning
courts and tribunals.
Annotations
include 'Overviews' explaining the operation of key provisions and 'Related
topics' boxes cross-referencing relevant provisions and issues throughout
the work. The text includes a legislative history table enabling changes to
all provisions to be tracked.
The
publication is fully-indexed and is updated three times per year.

History of SAADA
SAADA was previously published by the University
of
South Australia and was authored by two experts in the field of planning law
and practice:
- John Roder AM, former chairman of the Planning Appeal
Tribunal and District Court Judge; and
- Don Pitt, a former Commissioner of the Environment,
Resources and
Development Court
and the Planning Appeal Tribunal.
The work ceased being updated in
2002, despite continued support from subscribers.
With a high level of interest remaining in the text, SAADA was
acquired by Presidian in 2007. The
2002 version is currently being comprehensively revised, updated,
re-formatted and re-indexed in preparation for re-release in mid-2008. The Environment,
Resources and Development Court has contributed case summaries covering the
period 2002 - 2007.
