Freelance Editor – Academic Law Books


Presidian Legal Publications is seeking a freelance editor for books in its legal monograph series.

 

Responsibilities

The editor will review manuscripts for issues regarding structure, substance, language, completeness and citations. You will be involved from the manuscript submission stage through to the point at which the content of the manuscript is finalised and is ready for proofreading.

The work requires a familiarity with the law, legal concepts and methods of legal citation. As such, the work is suited to a person who has legal training and/or experience, such as an editor with a law degree, former lawyer or a law academic (current or retired).

The editor will work from his or her own office/home and documents will be sent electronically.

 

Preferable experience and qualifications

  • Experience in editing legal works/academic texts

  • Legal qualifications/experience

Editors without legal qualifications are encouraged to apply if they have experience in editing comparable texts.
